Shrewsbury High School's 140 Fair - Saturday 3rd May
Shrewsbury High School is thrilled to be celebrating our 140th birthday with a fabulous fair for all.
On Saturday 3rd May, from 11am to 3pm, we are throwing open the school gates and inviting students, teachers, their family and friends, in addition to local families to join us for a traditional fair that guarantees fun for all ages.
Our sports field will be alive with the sweet sounds of the SHS musicians, the clack of Morris dancers and the buzz of Shrewsbury Farmers market who, for one day only, are relocating from their regular appearance in Shrewsbury’s Square.
Our gates that lead straight out to the beautiful River Severn will be wide open, meaning that all are welcome to peruse not only the farmers market but local craft stalls, face painting, hook a duck and so much more. Join Learn Cycling as they offer bikeability fun, enjoy fresh dairy milkshakes, watch a stunning Maypole dance or join us for a penalty shoot out – there’s so much to do and see.

We are also delighted to be offering delicious, pre-orderable, family picnics for you to enjoy at our 140 Fair. Our very own Chef Mr Duckett has created a mouth-watering menu featuring sandwiches, cakes and soft drinks all presented in an SHS branded cool hamper which is then yours to keep as a memento of our special day. The picnics will feed up to four people so why not bring your picnic blankets and enjoy a delicious home made picnic while you listen to live music and soak up the sun.
